Remote-Region Survival Research was established in 1988 to provide custom-built rescue solutions for organisations, whose work and travel is remote, by distance or time, from statutory emergency rescue services.

The Remote Area Trauma Life Support® (R.A.T.L.S.®) training programme was launched in 1992, after three years of research and development.

Remote-Region Survival Research are the only company able to offer this course in the format approved by; The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh); The British Medical Association under Post-Graduate Educational Allowance; The Health and Safety Executive F.A.A.W.; The Asian-Pacific Trauma Training Centre.

The R.A.T.L.S.® course is constantly being developed and updated and remains in line with consensus, definitive opinion.
